In the end of World War I, Ukraine became the battlefield for the Russian Civil War. Russians and Ukrainians fought hard for their political beliefs. In 1992, both Russia and Ukraine were the founding members of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics. During 1932 to 1933, Ukraine experienced the Holodomor, which is also known as hunger, starvation, and famine. It killed up to 7.5 million Ukrainians. Scholars at the time described Ukraine's political system to be weak. Ukrainian politics has been categorized as " over centralized" which is seen as both legacy of the soviet system. Ukraine's embassy is located in Moscow, which is known as the capital city of Russia today.
